The story of our tuk
Ice Cream Tuk came about when Scott's fiancée was struggling to find an ice cream cart hire for their wedding. Before the end of the night, Scott and Jenna's Dad had bought a tuk-tuk with a view to making their own.
It started life in Spain, before being imported to the UK as an Airbnb cleaning cart. After getting it to Leeds we installed extra doors, gave her a re-spray in Beige Cappuccino Mocca-latte and fitted an ice cream machine. Her inaugural event was Scott & Jenna's wedding.

Ice Cream Tuk FAQ
What is included in the ice cream cart hire package?
Our standard ice cream cart hire includes our vintage tuk-tuk for 2 hours of serve time, unlimited soft-serve ice cream, a full toppings selection, compostable tubs and spoons, a friendly attendant, and travel within 50 miles of Leeds.
Do you offer traditional ice cream van hire?
We specialise in tuk-tuk ice cream cart hire rather than traditional ice cream van hire. Our converted Italian tuk-tuk is compact enough for most venues and offers a unique, stylish alternative to a classic ice cream van.
How much is the deposit and when do I pay it?
We require a 20% deposit of the booking value, with a minimum deposit of £100. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event. We'll send you a secure payment link once your date is confirmed.
What is not included in the package price?
The headline package price covers everything listed under the main package. Optional extras such as waffle cones, custom neon signs, branded tubs, additional serve time, and travel beyond 50 miles are charged separately.
Can I hire the cart for longer than 2 hours?
Yes. Extra serve time is £100 per hour. Just let us know when you enquire and we'll build it into your quote.
Do you need mains electricity at the venue?
Yes, a mains electric supply is required at your venue to power the tuk-tuk and soft-serve machine. We will bring extension leads and the necessary equipment, but access to a standard power outlet is essential. Generators usually aren't sufficient, as the fluctuations in power can trip the ice cream machine.
Can you set up earlier and pack down later?
Yes, we can arrive earlier to set up and stay on site after service has finished. This is charged as idle time, where the tuk-tuk is on site and fully set up but not in use. It is a great option if you want the tuk-tuk in place for photos or to keep your event timeline flexible.
How many people can you serve per hour?
The machine is constantly mixing the ice cream and needs a little time to recover between each serving. At full pace it can typically produce around one portion every 30 seconds, although it can be a little slower on extremely hot days. In a two-hour service you can expect roughly 200–240 servings at full capacity. Our package is unlimited, so guests are welcome to come back, but our team may gently enforce a sensible limit per person to keep the queue moving and make sure we don't run out for other guests.
Can the tuk-tuk fit at my venue?
The Ice Cream Tuk is a vehicle, so it can't go up steps, around tight bends or through small gaps. When you book, please tell us about any access restrictions, stairs, long carrying distances or narrow routes so we can plan a safe set-up. We park close to the set-up spot and use ramps to unload, so the area must be safe and traffic-free. If access is unsafe or very different from what was agreed, we may need to use an alternative location or decline to proceed.
Do you take photos at events?
Unless you tell us otherwise before your event, we may use photographs of our equipment at your event for marketing and promotional purposes, online and in print. Just let us know in advance if you would prefer us not to.
Can children pull their own ice cream?
Children under 14 must have an adult with them around the equipment. We will not serve children excessively for their safety and to ensure fair use for other guests. Our attendants are happy to help younger children by serving them directly rather than letting them operate the machine themselves.

Made an initial call to chat about what branding we needed and found them to be super helpful and accommodating, a order form was sent over which was easy to fill in and navigate. We hired Ice Cream Tuk for our recent wedding, the ice cream went down a treat with both younger and older guests alike who enjoyed the novelty of self serve and adding their own creation of toppings. The ice cream was delicious our favourite whippy style, it was great to be able to choose from a variety of topping choices. The team were friendly and helpful. The Tuk Tuk is unique and made a great spectacle for guests to watch as it was expertly manoeuvred into our reception barn. Would happily recommend and use again in the future.

I'm so happy we found the ice cream tuk! I really wanted icecream for our wedding. Someone else had let me down about 6 weeks out and I contacted the team and they were so lovely and helpful and reassuring and organised. We got married at left bank in leeds and when the tuk tuk drove into the building with no warning our guests were genuinely amazed! Serving worked really well and the icecream itself was delicious. Massive hit and definitely one of the highlights of our day.
